What ARCReader is

ARCReader lets authors share advance reader copies (ARCs) of unpublished books with readers they choose, and see how those readers read. By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Your writing stays yours

You keep every right to what you upload. You let us store it and show it only to the readers — and, if you choose, the agents — you share it with, so the service can work. Your manuscript is never used to train AI, and we don’t sell your data.

Only upload work you have the right to share, and nothing illegal, hateful or meant to harm someone.

Reading an ARC

• ARC copies are for your own reading. Don’t copy, share, sell or post them.
• Every page of your copy is watermarked with your email, and copying and printing are turned off.
• The author can see how far you’ve read and the margin comments, reactions and reviews you leave.
• Readers never pay.

Plans

Free includes 1 live book at a time and up to 25 readers per book.

Pro costs $12 a year, billed yearly (that’s $1 a month). It raises the limits to 25 live books at a time and up to 1,000 readers per book, under fair use, and adds the full analytics, CSV export and pitch desk. Checkout isn’t open yet; these terms describe how it will work.

• You can cancel any time, and you won’t be billed again.
• If you cancel or move back to Free, the downgrade pauses any books beyond the Free limit and deletes nothing: readers, feedback and analytics are all kept, and paused books reopen when you upgrade.
• Founding authors get a year of Pro free on their first book while the founding offer is open. When that year ends, the account goes back to Free unless you choose to pay.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself; you’re responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete it any time from your account page. We may suspend accounts that break these terms — for example, by leaking ARCs or harassing authors or readers.

The service

ARCReader is a young service. We work hard to keep it running and your work safe, but we can’t promise it will never be down or never have a bug, and a browser can’t stop someone photographing their screen. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you before it takes effect.
